To recover and safeguard your data on your iPhone, you can use the ‘Find My iPhone’ too.

This is what you need to do:

  1. Sign in to icloud.com/find on a Mac or PC. Or you can use the ‘Find My iPhone’ app on another iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
  2. Open ‘Find My iPhone’ and select your device to view its location on a map. If your iPhone is nearby, you can have it play a sound to help you locate it.
  3. Turn on Lost Mode. This will allow you to remotely lock your device with a four-digit pass code and to display a custom message with your phone number on your missing device’s lock screen and to keep track of your device’s location. Another benefit; if you added credit or debit cards to Apple Pay, your account will be suspended when you put your device in Lost Mode.
